Meet our New Trustees

We're delighted to announce that Meg Gledhill and Fia Rutherford have become Trustees. "With their expertise in ecology and vetinerary care, Meg and Fia will be a fantastic addition to our senior team," says Penny Hunt, Co-Founder. "They are both totally committed to our cause and we are very excited to have them on board."

Meg Gledhill is a professional ecologist with nearly ten years of experience working on projects for the private and public sector. She holds a degree in Environmental Management and has a passion for sharing her knowledge, making a difference and developing her work within the charity sector. Alongside her professional role, Meg is an active conservation volunteer, helping with bat, dormouse, and badger monitoring projects in the north of England. She is also one of our main bat carers. Meg brings valuable experience in project management, wildlife policy and legislation, as well as a strong understanding of species ecology and habitat needs. When she’s not working or volunteering, Meg loves travelling and enjoys hiking with her husband and their dog, Noah.

“I feel privileged to be a trustee of such an important charity - the only wildlife rescue in our region," says Meg. "From childhood I have loved animals and I am passionate about helping this charity continue to grow and protect wildlife.”

Fia Rutherford, who joined us recently as our in-house volun-teer vet, also becomes a Trustee. Fia qualified in 2009 from the Royal Dick School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh. Her years in clinical practice started in the North East of England, the Dales, Preston and finally North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Over the years, she has also worked in small animal and equine practice, including assisting zoo vets at Blackpool Zoo.

"I have admired Craven Wildlife Rescue's work for many years," Fia says. "Becoming their volunteer vet, at the end of last year, has been a wonderful experience. So when I heard they were looking for Trustees with animal care skills, I jumped at the chance. It's a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of things and I am so looking forward to it."

Meg and Fia join Vanessa Ford, who also joined recently, as our newest Trustees.
