In our news-in-brief section this time, we are celebrating our links with our local vets and it's the last call for Trustee applications.
We love working with our local vets and most of our work is with Ashland Vets, Kingsway Veterinary Group and Dalehead Veterinary Group. We want to say a big thank you to them for their support and invaluable expertise. They not only help us with our patients, they also send new patients our way when wildlife is taken to them and it needs ongoing care.
We were thrilled to have Samantha Burnell, Clinical Director at Ashlands visit recently and this is what she said about us:
"We refer a wide range of birds and mammals to Craven Wildlife Rescue for ongoing care. They do a vital job rehabilitating and returning wildlife to its natural habitat. Without Craven Wildlife Rescue, this wildlife - many of it red- or amber-listed - would simply have little to no chance of survival. We are very impressed with their approach - their levels of care are some of the best we have ever seen in a wildlife rescue context. We look forward to working with them more as they grow and develop."
We are also thrilled to hear from the team at Kingsway Veterinary Group, too, who said that they had chosen to make a donation of £250 to the Rescue. Their parent organisation IVC Evidensia offers the opportunity for practices to nominate a charity or community group to receive a donation to support their work. They nominates us in recognition of the valuable work we do helping wildlife in this area. They said "It is always a pleasure to work with you and we appreciate your support when we become involved with wildlife needing help."
And don't forget that we are looking for new Trustees to join our Board. We've had some fantastic applications come through. The closing date is 31 October (today!!) but, if you feel you have the right skills and are keen to be considered too, don't delay and get in touch! Find out more here.
